It Used To Cost Them One Million Dollars A Year To Run It!
An Australian company with national offices called me in to do a consultation for them because one of the offices had not made a profit since its establishment four years earlier. In fact, this unprofitable office was costing them one million dollars per year in operating costs. To date, the 'mother' office had been 'loaning' to the unprofitable office to keep it afloat.
At the time of consultation, the lease on the unprofitable office was due for renewal. I was asked to examine the building to see if it was worthwhile for them to continue leasing there or should they move?
When I arrived at the location, I immediately saw a number of distinct problems. Upon further examination of the horoscope of the building, it was clear that this building could never make money with its existing entrance and office layout.
To help cover costs, the client had rented out some of the office space to another business. Unfortunately he had rented out 'the best position'. This business they had leased to had a separate 'prosperous' entrance and was doing extremely well!!
I reported back to my client. I thought he could benefit more by moving. After spending four million dollars over the last four years, my client was willing to do anything to improve the situation and I got the order to start looking for a new building.
Within a week I had found a building with a much better horoscope and layout. I then designed the placement of the offices with their architect.
Within the first three weeks of moving in - sales tripled. After three months and for the first time ever, the employees were paid from their own profits and there has been a steady growth rate ever since. Three years later, the previously unprofitable office is no longer unprofitable and to this day continues to hold its own.
